Academics
At our prep school, we believe that a strong academic foundation is essential for every child’s growth and development. Our nurturing ethos is woven into every aspect of our academic setup, ensuring that each boy is supported and challenged according to his individual needs. Guided by the high standards of the Cambridge curriculum, we create an environment where all learners can thrive.
In our classrooms, we are committed to reaching every child. Our dedicated co-teachers in grade one to three, work alongside the classroom teacher to provide personalised support and extend learning opportunities within each lesson. We foster a safe and nurturing environment where boys feel confident to explore their academic potential. By tailoring our approach to meet the varied needs of our boys, we ensure that each child receives the encouragement and guidance necessary to excel in his learning experience.
Curricular
Our comprehensive Cambridge curricular framework emphasizes both formal and informal assessment across all subject areas. We conduct specific assessment weeks during the Trinity and Christmas Terms, as well as utilizing the CEM standardised baseline assessment, annually, to gauge attainment levels. We maintain an ongoing record of academic performance, sharing half-term mark orders with parents to keep them informed of their son’s progress.
Celebration of achievements is a cornerstone of our academic culture. Weekly assemblies recognise our boys’ hard work across lessons, sports, music, and drama. These events foster a sense of pride and accomplishment, reinforcing the value of both academic and co-curricular successes. Our Grade 6 boys participate in Stage 6 Cambridge Checkpoint assessments, providing them with valuable external examination practice that informs our teaching strategies. At the end of the year, our whole school Prize-Giving ceremony serves as a grand celebration of the boys’ achievements, while our integration of the ZIMSEC curriculum ensures we meet the standards expected for the formal examination at the end of Grade 7.
