Welcome to St John’s Preparatory School for Boys.

St John’s is proud to be the first Zimbabwean school to join the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA), and a member of the International Boys’ Schools Coalition (IBSC) as well as the Zimbabwe Association of Trust Schools (ATS). These affiliations reflect our commitment to quality education and best practice.

At the heart of St John’s lies the vision of the St John’s Educational Trust: to nurture boys to be the best they can be. This vision shapes every aspect of life at our Preparatory School, which represents the middle and formative stage of a boy’s educational journey within the Trust.

Our mission is to develop each boy physically, spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally, through a relevant and specialised system of holistic education. As a Preparatory School, we play a vital role in building strong foundations and guiding boys through a key stage of growth and development.

We offer a broad-based Cambridge curriculum, complemented by sport and music as integral parts of our educational offering. Together, these elements promote balance and contribute to an all-rounded education dedicated to developing the whole student.

We believe deeply in the value of an all-boys education that understands and celebrates the nature of boyhood. Through clear expectations, strong relationships, and purposeful guidance, boys are supported to grow in confidence, resilience, empathy, and integrity.
