College | Provincial Rugby Trials This Weekend

This weekend is the Provincial Rugby Trials Weekend, which will be hosted at St John’s College. There are 23 schools taking part with 38 games of rugby being played over Friday and Saturday. This happens every two years and it is a very big weekend at the College. There are just a few things I would like to draw your attention to for the weekend.

Rugby SJC vs St George’s

All our teams will play against St George’s, except for the U17B team who will play on Friday afternoon against Ellis Robins. There will also be an SJC invite team to play Ellis Robins at U19 level on Friday afternoon as well. This is to give all the fringe players a chance at playing a rugby game.

There will be parking and entry discs for all St John’s parents that would like to come and watch on Saturday.  This is due to the College charging members of the public for parking and entry into the school on Saturday only. Should you wish to get one, please collect from Penny Volker in the front office, otherwise you will be charged for parking and entry into the school on Saturday. Your son may collect it for you, there will only be allowed two tickets per boy.

The first team game will start at 1530, and should be done by 1700 at the latest.

U14 A & B, U15 A & B, U16 A & B and U17A Rugby teams are all required to bring eats for teas on Saturday.  These should be dropped off at the Kolbe Room, either on Friday or Saturday.

Thank you very much and we look forward to your support over the weekend.

Please take note that with big crowds around security is a major issue. We are doing our best to cover all areas of the college and surroundings.  We ask that you please be aware of this particularly on Saturday, and DO NOT LEAVE VISIBLE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLES.

Thank you
